Your Clubs is happy to announce we are working to include Sports Legends Prostate Cancer Projects to all of our events.  I hope you will sign up here for a screening at the Tempe Dodge Rumble in the Desert II.  This important effort was started by Gene Felker a long time sports figure and a prostate cancer survivor.  

 Gene started out in the NFL as a tight end for the Dallas Texans. 

Your Clubs is happy to announce we are working to include Sports Legends Prostate Cancer Projects to all of our events.  I hope you will sign up here for a screening at the Tempe Dodge Rumble in the Desert II.  This important effort was started by Gene Felker a long time sports figure and a prostate cancer survivor.   Gene started out in the NFL as a tight end for the Dallas Texans.  His love of the game is evident even today.  He has taken his years as a Player, Scout, Coach and Business man and combined all his talents to start a new team.  His draft choices for this team were flawless.  His team Consists of a NFL Hall of Fame Advisory Council that includes many greats such as, Dan Dierdorf, Mike Ditka, Gale Sayers and includes other sports greats such as  Dusty Baker, Jerry Colangelo an Hal Greer.  The Board of Directors is just as remarkable with Doctors such as Larry Bans, MD Jim Ferrel, MD and John Carpten, Ph.D.  There are long time civic leaders such as Chip U’Ren and Educators like Marla Zimmerman local media member Gary Cruz.  The talent he assembled for this effort is worthy of their mission statement:
  •  To educate men about their unique susceptibility to prostate cancer and to motivate them to get PSA blood tests and physicals because early detection saves lives.
  • To empower women, loving wives and mothers of our children, to influence their men to act.
  • To provide comfort to surviving families of victims.
  • To make prostate screenings available to all men in Arizona.

They have many events they are already working on and we look forward to helping in any way we can.  Their Len Dawson Sports Legends Golf Classic is a project I hope some here can attend.  To learn more about Sports Legends Prostate Cancer Projects go to their home page here.
